Spring Events At Crystal Mountain
It’s no secret that if you’re chasing alpine sunshine just a couple of hours outside of Seattle, Crystal Mountain is where it shows up. When the forecast can’t quite make up its mind, odds are the sun is holding strong at 7,012 feet. Known for having “more corn than Kansas,” spring skiing here hits a sweet spot. The snow is soft, the landings are forgiving, and the turns are smooth and carveable with just the right spray.
While it’s about skiing and riding, spring is also about making memories that last. Bring the whole family. Kids 12 and under ski free all of April, and the events are built for anyone and everyone.
The days get longer, the mountain softens, and the event calendar comes to life. Signature events stack up weekend after weekend, bringing the community together for some of the season’s most memorable moments. From the crowd-favorite Bikini Downhill to the splashy chaos of the Pond Skim to berms that rise higher than a one-story building, spring is when Crystal truly turns it on. The Bikini Downhill and Kona Big Wave Pond Skim benefit the Crystal Mountain Ski Patrol and the Crystal Mountain Fire Department, two teams that play a vital role in keeping our mountain safe year-round.
Spring Event Highlights at Crystal Mountain
Mt. Rainier Berm Brawl: April 25-26
Taking over the closing weekend. Washington’s biggest berms are back and ready to ride, giving you one last chance to drop in before we call it a season. With $10,000+ in prizes on the line and gear from our rad sponsors, lock in your spot before the course gets dialed, and we roll into the final weekend.
Nachtspektakel: March 28
Nachtspektakel is an uphill touring event in partnership with NWAC. You’ll tour 1,850 feet from the base to Campbell Basin Lodge, where you’re greeted with tasty food and drink, outdoor fires, and a magical atmosphere with a like-minded community. This is a once-a-year event, and all raffle proceeds go directly to NWAC. Take advantage of a great workout and come connect with other rad mountain lovers.
The Bikini Downhill: April 11
The Bikini Downhill is a collaboration with our friends over at Elysian. This event brings out the wild side of our skiers and riders, and it’s all for a good cause. All proceeds benefit the Crystal Mountain Fire Department, who have played a vital role in mountain safety for years, showing up for our community every season. May the SPF be with you for this wild and silly event.
The Kona Big Wave Pond Skim: April 18
A long-time classic and a good time. Winners will receive a 26/27 Ikon Pass, so bring the steeze and the outrageous costumes. We’ve got eyes on you. Skiers and riders will brave the Cascade chill and skim or crash right into the pond. This one brings smiles for miles and a good time for the entire crew. Registration is open, so don’t miss the chance to sign up. It goes quick.
Jr. Ski Patrol: March 29
Young girls will learn mountain safety alongside the strong members of the ski patrol community. This is a full-day, hands-on camp experience. Parents and legal guardians will drop their girls off, and participants will be split into groups based on skier ability.
We’re shifting into a good-looking spring. Weekend after weekend, we’ll have the dial cranked up and the corn just right. We’ll see you there.
