The Royal Haciendas celebrates its 19th anniversary on July 1. How time flies when you are enjoying yourself in paradise! Many of our members and staff have been at our beautiful Riviera Maya resort since it opened in 2006, and it has been an unforgettable journey for all, full of precious memories.

The Activities Team has a lineup of fun activities for members and guests to enjoy on July 1, including an anniversary party with games, contests and live music.

A spectacular hideaway

At the heart of the Riviera Maya, The Royal Haciendas is a spectacular bayside hideaway, a peaceful sanctuary where you wake up to the sound of the breeze in the palms, the gentle waves breaking in the distance and the soft coo of doves that lulls you as you sip your morning coffee on the terrace.

Arches, columns, distinctive espadaña gables, wide terraces with pots cascading in bougainvillea, fountains and ponds rimmed with reeds and water lilies, all set in gardens full of colorful tropical shrubs and native trees, The Royal Haciendas design takes its inspiration from the grand old estate houses of the Yucatan and yet has every upscale comfort to make it an exceptional spot for relaxation and vacation fun with family and friends.

Breakfast on the terrace of your spacious suite is the time to decide what’s in store for another day in paradise: pool time, a snorkeling trip to local reefs, cenote swims and zip lining in the jungle, a park day, exploring Mayan ruins or even an afternoon of shopping in Playa del Carmen. There is always something to do in the Riviera Maya. Gazing out over the gardens as you ponder your options, you’ll listen to birdsong and watch hummingbirds busy among the hibiscus and ixoras. You might even see a tejon or coatimundi wandering through the grounds and gulls, pelicans and ospreys patrolling the shoreline.

Fun time

From sunrise to sunset and under a star-filled sky, a world of activities awaits you at The Royal Haciendas. Enjoy beach and pool time, join the many keep fit sessions, try your hand at snorkeling, tennis, pickleball, archery and basketball. There are daily activities for adults, teens and families, and your children will love the Kids Club for a day of games, crafts and splashy fun at the Aqua Park. Relax with a fragrant herbal treatment at Alea Spa or work out at the gym.

The coral reefs of Cozumel are only a 20-minute boat ride away and you can discover the wonders of the underwater world with Dive Balam. Whenever you feel like exploring the area, Thomas More Travel has an amazing collection of tours and water sports for you to choose from.

New activities and events to enjoy

There is always something new to discover when you vacation at The Royal Haciendas and this year the team has added more activities for adults, teens and children to enjoy and a wider variety of evening entertainment, such as live music, karaoke, and shows. The new Italian and Mediterranean theme night buffets on Wednesday and Sunday are proving very popular, the Sol and Luna Grill menus have been expanded to give you more lunch options and the Oceana cevicheria is a favorite spot for ceviches, aguachiles and tostadas. Also new, signature mixology to enjoy when dining, cooking and mixology classes on Monday and Wednesdays, an updated Teppanyaki Show at Kinoko, a multi-service coffee station in the Members Lounge for espressos and even hot chocolate and more wines to choose from at the Members Wine & Cheese on Fridays. There are now four pickleball courts for families to enjoy, up from two and a complimentary snack station for children at the Aqua Park.

Safety enhancements have also been added this year such as more stair railings in buildings and public areas, emergency lighting in all corridors and more lifeguards on duty. Finally, the installation of solar panels will help reduce electricity cost while making the resort more environmentally friendly and reinforces our commitment to a greener future.
