Our Christmas Toy Appeal – Blog
As we all gather to celebrate Thanksgiving and the December holiday season with family and friends, help us to spread some happiness. The Royal Resorts Foundation and Royal Resorts team members are collecting toys and sandals for children in need. These gifts will be distributed during an event organized by Ciudad de la Alegria Community Center on January 6, Día de Los Reyes Magos, which is when Mexican children traditionally receive gifts from the Three Kings. With your generosity, we can bring a smile to their faces.
Volunteers will be visiting remote Mayan villages bearing gifts of toys and sandals, rosca de reyes or kings cake, piñatas and more for a Los Reyes Magos children’s party.
If you are currently staying at Royal Resorts or will be traveling to Cancun over the Christmas holidays you can help by giving a toy.
What can you donate?
• Dolls (Barbie-type and baby dolls)
• Superhero figures
• Cars
• Plastic balls
• Soft toys for tots
• Tea sets and other kitchen play sets
• Board games
• Children’s books (in Spanish)
• Coloring books, pencils, crayons and paints
• Craft making sets
• Candies
Please do not donate battery-operated toys, guns and war games
Sandals for children
We are also collecting new sandals for boys and girls so that they can put their best foot forward.
Look for the toy collection boxes in the resort lobby
Leave your gifts of toys in the decorated Christmas Toy Appeal box in the resort lobby. You can also leave them with the Duty Manager at the Front Desk. The final day for giving toys is January 2, 2026.
Where to buy toys
All the big supermarkets and chain stores in Downtown Cancun and Playa del Carmen have extra-large toy departments for the season if you are not sure where to buy gifts. If you prefer to contribute to the Toy Appeal by donating so that the Foundation can buy toys on your behalf, please contact the Duty Manager at the Front Desk.
If you are not traveling to Cancun this season and would like to help, the Royal Resorts Foundation accepts donations of educational material, new toys and clothing for children and adults in good condition all year round. You can also donate online to support its education, health, community and conservation causes.
