There’s no getting around it—April always seems to be that month that screams pack up and travel the loudest. Maybe it’s the Spring blooms. Maybe the still lingering cold. Perhaps it’s the quickly approaching summer… whatever it is, this month calls out to anyone willing to take a bold step of faith, even if just for a few days.

When it comes to an April getaway, there are so many island destinations to consider. But out of all of them, the ones that shine the brights always seem to be the ones where warmth and ocean views collide. White, sandy beaches aren’t cliché, they’re essential. Especially the caliber of beaches that you can find on the sun-soaked island of Jamaica during an April vacation. This island, one of the most popular English-speaking destinations in the Caribbean, has just the right measure of calm waters and laid-back island ambiance. It’s a favorite for many travelers, and for good reason.

Aside from spending hours on end on beach spots like Seven Mile Beach in Negril and Doctor’s Cave Beach in Montego Bay, there are just so many interesting things to do in Jamaica. Some of our favorite things to do on this island include dipping into refreshing waterfalls like the towering Dunn’s River Falls, one of the largest in the Caribbean. There are also locations like YS Falls, Mayfield Falls, the Ocho Rios Blue Hole, and even the Martha Brae River (famous for river rafting) that are a must if you’re looking for adventure. History won’t be hard to unearth either—this island has quite a colorful one! And food… we won’t blame you if you don’t know where to start as the flavors are just so compelling! Jerk chicken rarely ever fails though, and neither does a hearty serving of oxtails with gravy, pair with some local rice and peas!
