The Crescent Hotel, Fort Worth is delighted to introduce Joel Treviño Teddlie, who joins its esteemed hospitality team as the new Wine Sommelier for the hotel’s on-property dining experiences, Emilia’s and its fine dining room, The Blue Room, which is beginning dinner services today! With a rich blend of professional experience and comprehensive wine education, Teddlie brings a unique perspective and expertise to enhance guests’ dining experiences.

Prior to joining The Crescent Hotel, Teddlie served as the Manager and Wine Director at Bistro Jeanty and in Yountville, CA, where he injected renewed vitality into the bistro’s wine program. Before his tenure at Bistro Jeanty, Teddlie distinguished himself as a Sommelier at Bouchon Bistro, also in Yountville, CA. In this role, he showcased his prowess in wine service and education, offering personalized recommendations and pairings to guests while imparting valuable knowledge to service staff and management.

In addition to his hands-on experience, Teddlie holds esteemed wine credentials, including the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines, which he passed with merit in San Francisco, CA. Furthermore, his dedication to continuous learning and mastery of his craft is evident in his pursuit of the Diploma Level from the International Sommelier Guild, where he immersed himself in the intricacies of viticulture, vinification, and beverage pairing.

As The Crescent Hotel’s Wine Sommelier, Teddlie will curate an exceptional wine list that will captivate Emilia’s and The Blue Room’s guests, including world-renowned wines typically not offered by the glass. He will source wines from various distributors from all over that complement the dishes offered at the restaurants, taking care to build a vast collection of robust yet approachable wines to satisfy connoisseurs and the curious alike.

He will greet each patron, while taking time to get to know their flavor profile preferences and answer any questions, providing expert guidance on pairings to ensure guests feel comfortable with the wine list and their choice. His passion for wine and commitment to excellence perfectly align with The Crescent Hotel’s dedication to providing an exceptional culinary experience.
